Experienced, Effective Mediation

Synergist Mediation is now the Dispute Resolution division of Genoa & Associates, P.C. Its principal, Hon. Marilyn Genoa (Ret.), is an experienced dispute resolution practitioner, bringing over forty years of combined business, legal, judicial, and ADR experience to Synergist’s dispute resolution practice. Prior to beginning her legal career, Marilyn served as the CEO of a national manufacturing company. Her legal experience spans diverse practice areas, including labor & employment law, real estate, corporate representation, commercial litigation, and closely held and family business representation. Having served over a decade as an elected Village Magistrate, she was the elected President of the Nassau County Magistrates Association.

As a leader in Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR), Marilyn has participated in, and developed, programs to train the next generation of mediators, as well as to equip attorneys with the skills needed for effective ADR advocacy. She has organized and chaired joint New York State Bar Association(NYSBA)/Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA) Basic and Advanced Commercial Mediation Training programs, she chaired the NCBA ADR Committee and the NCBA ADR Advisory Council, which oversees the Arbitration and Mediation panels of the NCBA. Marilyn has also co-chaired and presented programs for numerous NCBA and NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section committees.

As a neutral she has successfully helped attorneys and their clients resolve disputes relating to business; shareholder; labor and employment; torts; and surrogate matters.
